The Hoshi Awards are open to all, but many people assume a strong background in science or technology is needed to win. So we set out to redefine the awards — not as a contest, but as an open platform for idea-sharing. We wanted people to realise that even seemingly insignificant ideas have the potential to change the world and shape the future. That’s why our posters use vividly coloured oarfish to represent ideas emerging from the hidden universe of people’s inner imagination, creating a sense of anticipation for the innovation and myriad future possibilities that shared ideas can inspire.
